72 hours in Santiago de Compostela

"Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe"

Anatole France

The experience of arriving in Santiago de Compostela as a pilgrim, after having walked hundreds and hundreds of kilometers remains, for now, on my wish list.

My very brief Galician experience is encapsulated in a small box of images, but I must admit that the sensations gathered in a few hours go far beyond the visual memory.

As is often the case, the cognitive and sensorial journey of a city should be started early in the morning, walking through the silent streets. But Santiago de Compostela has a unique history and the thousands of pilgrims who complete their journey each day convey an extraordinary sequence of emotions.

Santiago de Compostela is not only a coveted destination.

It is a place from which to 'depart' with rediscovered harmony.
